Screenshot Requirements: Sizes, Counts, and Common Rejections

Google Play requires a minimum of 2 screenshots per supported device type (phone, tablet, if applicable), at specific minimum and maximum dimensions, in PNG or JPEG format. The most common technical rejection: screenshots with an aspect ratio outside the accepted range, especially from developers exporting directly from an emulator without checking the output dimensions.

A separate, non-technical rejection: screenshots showing content that doesn't match the actual in-app experience — a heavily mocked-up or Photoshopped screenshot can trigger a "misleading content" review flag.

The fix

Fix: export at exactly 1080×1920 (or your target ratio) from a real device or accurate emulator profile, and keep mockup text close to actual in-app copy.
